The 2026–2027 school year marks the tenth year of Monsieur Bracken's professional teaching career and the ninth season of French Class League competition. It also represents the eighth year in which the Goeller Cup will be awarded at the conclusion of the playoffs, which will once again carry the title Quest for the Goeller Cup.
For the second consecutive year, the French Class League will operate within the fictional world of Zaccaria, where students compete as Noble Houses whose actions shape the fate of the Realm. The Quest for the Goeller Cup will again serve as the culmination of a year-long storyline and determine which House will rise above the rest to claim the Kingdom's highest honor.
For the third consecutive season, the competing Houses will consist of Periods 3 through 8, while Periods 1 and 2 will remain inactive due to Monsieur Bracken's teaching schedule.
Students enrolled in French I will experience Book I: Zaccaria – Kingdom Rising, the storyline first introduced during the 2025–2026 school year. Students in French II Honors and Dual Enrollment French 113–114 will embark upon a new sequel storyline, Book II: The Trials of War and Glory, expanding the narrative world of Zaccaria beyond the aftermath of the Rift.
The seven character types introduced in 2026 continue into 2027, with refinements to the exact benefits and abilities of different character levels. Students in French 1 will be able to level up their characters to a maximum tier III, while students in French 2 and Dual French will have access to start their character at tier IV.
Each House gets one “character token” per character type per Act (each token can only be redeemed once per act). Character “Levels” are based on an average of all the student levels in the class.
Students may earn more than one token per character type per Act but must have available space to hold an extra token; by default each house receives 7 token slots. Earned tokens can transfer between Acts and can be used in addition to the standard token.
Additional character abilities may be unlocked or discovered on a House-by-House basis and can be added to a character track at anytime that a successful reward quest is completed.
A House may use all powers and abilities up to the highest level possessed by a majority of members of that character type.
Example: If a House has five Knights and three of those Knights are Level 4 while two are Level 5, the House Knight Level is 4. The House may therefore use all Knight abilities from Levels 1-4 but not Level 5 or 6 abilities.
Advancement within the Seven Pillars requires training, equipment, and service to the Realm. When a new rank becomes available, Nobles who possess sufficient wealth are automatically promoted by the Royal Council. The required Zaccars are deducted from their treasury as the cost of advancement.
Nobles may purchase available advancements at any time by coordinating with the Royal Council.
At the conclusion of each Act, the Royal Council will automatically promote any Noble who possesses sufficient wealth to advance but has not yet done so. The cost of advancement will still be deducted from the Noble's treasury.
Individual Privileges are unlocked through personal advancement and are available to Nobles of all character types. Once unlocked, these privileges may be purchased through the Market using Zaccars.
House Abilities, however, are unique to each character type and depend upon the collective advancement of that House's members.

A summary for the storyline for French I's classes: Kingdom Rising, can be found in the 2026 Las Vegas page.
The banners of the House Supreme now hang proudly within the halls of the Château Royal of Brackennie, and throughout the Kingdom, the people celebrate a new age. Under the guidance of their newly crowned Sovereign, the Noble Houses begin the long task of rebuilding Zaccaria from the scars left by the Rift.
Ancient roads are restored. Forgotten libraries reopen. Prosperity returns to the markets of the Realm and yet, beyond the Kingdom's borders, something stirs.
Whispers spread through the countryside of villages gone silent. Merchant caravans vanish along once-safe roads. Watchtowers report strange banners appearing on distant horizons. Old rivalries threaten to divide the Houses just as unity is needed most, while questions surrounding the future of the Crown linger in the hearts of the Nobility.
A threat of War and an opportunity for Glory coexist on the horizon. In its path stand the noble leaders of Zaccaria's Houses—the only defense remaining for a Kingdom yearning to reclaim its former prestige.

Ahead of the Quest for the Goeller Cup Playoffs, the Houses of Zaccaria were ranked according to their engagement and participation during the first three Acts of the Zaccaria: Kingdom Rising storyline in the Zaccarian Council Register. Rather than relying solely on traditional class point totals, the initial rankings reflected the strategic decisions and actions taken by students throughout the narrative.
Each House accumulated ranking points through character development, gameplay decisions, and in-game purchases made during Acts I through III. These actions represented the influence, preparation, and strategic positioning of each House prior to the final contest for the Goeller Cup. This scoring system and ranking was not shown to students until the final week of Act III, as the "House Tracking System" was the student-facing scoring-system through the first parts of the storyline, until it was intentionally destroyed in the storyline a few weeks before the end of Act III.
Points were awarded according to the following system:
Level 1 Character: 5 points
Level 2 Character: 10 points
Level 3 Character: 20 points
Level 4 Character: 40 points
Level 5 Character: 75 points
Level 6 Character: 100 points
Playing a strategic card or making a major narrative decision: 2 points
Purchasing an item from the online shop: 1 point
The cumulative total of these points determined the initial House rankings entering the Quest for the Goeller Cup. These rankings established the competitive landscape leading into the playoff stage of the competition.
Once the playoffs began, advancement in the tournament was determined by the standard Goeller Cup format, in which Houses competed across multiple statistical categories over several class days.

The 2027 Goeller Cup Playoffs, officially titled the Quest for the Goeller Cup, will be the culmination of the 2026-2027 year. The Quest is tentatively scheduled to start on 25 March 2027 with the opening round between the third through sixth ranked Houses battling for a place in the Semi-Final round. The Final will conclude on or around 7 May 2027.
The playoff format remained based on five statistical categories, now renamed as Zaccarian Trials:
Trial of Might: total class points
Trial of Unity: average points per student
Trial of Honor: positive point percentage
Trial of Voice: French usage percentage
Trial of Legend: average score of a House’s top three earners
The Trial of Legend replaced the previous highest-student category. This adjustment encouraged broader participation by reducing the impact of a single dominant student.
