The 2024–2025 school year marked Mr. Bracken’s eighth year of professional teaching, the seventh year of French Class Competition, and the sixth school year in which the Goeller Cup was awarded at the conclusion of the season.
Period 6, Bellagio, won the 2025 Goeller Cup on Monday, May 12, defeating Period 4, Fitzgeralds, by a score of 4–1. Bellagio became the first championship class to win the Goeller Cup by a 4–1 margin.
The season featured several roster and format changes. Student Council no longer competed in the French Class League and was replaced by Period 5, Sam’s Town, and Period 6, Bellagio. Period 7, The Strat, entered as the defending Goeller Cup champion, though its previous championship students were either no longer enrolled in French or had joined Bellagio.
Bellagio’s roster carried significant championship history. Of its 15 students, two were competing for their third Goeller Cup title, while seven others were pursuing their second. Six of those students ultimately became back-to-back champions.

2025 Champions
Period 7 - The Strat
Period 8 - Sahara
All previous champions were either unenrolled in French or were members of Period 6. Of the 15 students in period 6, two were competing for their third Goeller Cup championship; seven were competing for their second, six of whom became back-to-back champions this season.
The first semester of the 2024-2025 season implemented an Olympics-themed scoring system where classes competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals. Medals were routinely available during class instruction, including during class games and competitions. When certain activities were done across class periods and French levels, the best-performing class was awarded a gold medal, with silver and bronze awarded to the second and third-best classes, as applicable. In regards to the class standings, gold medals accounted for 2 points, silver for 1, and bronze earned no points. This system was used only during the fall 2024 semester, and the weekly LCF format returned in the spring of 2025, with each class competing in a 10-week competition schedule, playing each opponent class twice. Medals were also awarded for the first, second, and third-place finishing classes in the Goeller Cup Playoffs, after the implementation of new consolation rounds for eliminated classes.
The first semester introduced the French Class Olympics, an Olympics-themed scoring format in which classes competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals during classroom activities, games, and cross-class competitions. Gold medals counted as wins worth two standings points, silver medals counted as ties worth one point, and bronze medals counted as losses worth no points.
The Strat won the 2024 French Class Olympics with 10 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals for a total of 28 points. Caesars Palace finished just one point behind with 27, followed by Sam’s Town, Bellagio, Sahara, and Fitzgeralds. The victory completed a calendar-year trifecta for The Strat, which had also won the 2023–2024 regular season and the 2024 Goeller Cup.
In January, the French Class League returned to its head-to-head format. Unlike the previous year’s 15-week schedule, the 2025 league season lasted 10 weeks, with each class facing every opponent twice. The schedule fit entirely within the third quarter and set the stage for the playoffs after Spring Break.
The Strat remained the class to beat throughout the regular season. They opened the league season by defeating Caesars Palace, 9–8, in what was then the highest combined score in the format’s history. Bellagio also emerged as a major contender, winning its opening matches and steadily climbing toward the top two.
By the midway point, The Strat led the standings with 35 points, followed by Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Sam’s Town, Sahara, and Fitzgeralds. The second half of the season tightened the race for the final first-round bye. Bellagio gained ground with key victories, while Caesars Palace once again found itself battling to remain in the top two.
The Strat clinched the regular-season title for the second consecutive year with a Week 9 win over Fitzgeralds. In the final week, Bellagio defeated Caesars Palace, 15–14, to secure second place and the final automatic berth into the semifinals. The result marked the second consecutive year that Caesars Palace fell out of a top-two position in the final week of the regular season.

The 2025 Goeller Cup Playoffs began on Monday, March 24, 2025. The Strat and Bellagio earned first-round byes as the top two teams in the standings, while Caesars Palace, Fitzgeralds, Sahara, and Sam’s Town entered the Wildcard Round.
For the first time, eliminated classes continued competing in consolation rounds to determine third, fourth, fifth, and sixth place. These rounds added Bronze and fifth-place matchups to the playoff structure and gave eliminated classes meaningful competition through the end of the postseason.
Wildcard Round
Semifinals
Fitzgeralds stunned top-seeded The Strat by a score of 3–2, becoming the first Period 4 class to reach the Goeller Cup Final. The series turned on positive percentage, where Fitzgeralds edged The Strat by just 0.003 percentage points. The result also marked the first time a #1 seed was eliminated in the semifinal round.
Bellagio defeated Caesars Palace by a score of 3–2 in the other semifinal. Caesars Palace set a playoff record with 624 points but fell just short of reaching another Goeller Cup Final. Bellagio won average points per student, positive percentage, and highest-earning student. Jaekob, a defending Goeller Cup champion, shattered the individual playoff scoring record with 67 points.
Consolation Rounds
The Strat defeated Caesars Palace in the inaugural Bronze Series to claim third place and the first Goeller Cup Bronze Medal. Caesars Palace finished fourth.
Sahara defeated Sam’s Town by a score of 4–1 in the first fifth-place match. The series lasted 12 class days, making it the longest playoff matchup in competition history. Sahara edged Sam’s Town in total points, 970–968, while Sam’s Town won average points per student.
2025 Goeller Cup Final
#2 Bellagio vs. #4 Fitzgeralds
The 2025 Goeller Cup Final began on Wednesday, April 30, and concluded on Monday, May 12. Bellagio reached the Final for the second time in period history, while Fitzgeralds made its first championship appearance after eliminating the top-seeded Strat.
Bellagio took early control of the series and led 3–2 after the opening day. Fitzgeralds remained dangerous throughout the Final, holding leads in total points and French usage at different stages, but Bellagio consistently maintained advantages in average points per student, positive percentage, and highest-earning student.
On the final day, Bellagio retook the lead in French usage and secured a 4–1 championship victory. Fitzgeralds won total points, 407–385, but Bellagio captured the remaining four categories to become the 2025 Goeller Cup Champions.
Bellagio became the first class to win the Goeller Cup by a 4–1 score. The victory also produced the competition’s first three-time student champions, as two Bellagio students completed a three-year championship run with titles in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
The first round of the 2025 Goeller Cup Playoffs started on Monday, March 24, 2025, and concluded on Friday, April 4, 2025. The match-ups featured the 3rd versus 6th-ranked classes and the 4th versus 5th-ranked classes. In both matchups, the higher-seeded classes were favored to win. The winner of the 3 vs. 6 matchup will advance to play second-ranked Bellagio (period 6) while the winner of the 4 vs. 5 matchup will play the top-ranked Strat (period 7).
Caesars Palace defeated Sam’s Town by a score of 3–2 to advance to the semifinals for the sixth time in six appearances. Sam’s Town pushed the series deep and briefly took control during the middle of the round, but Caesars Palace surged on the final day, flipping French usage while maintaining advantages in average points per student and positive percentage. A Sam’s Town student tied the playoff record for most points by an individual student in a round with 46.
The A-Day match-up featured the 3rd-ranked Period 3, Caesars Palace, versus the 6th-ranked class, Period 5, Sam's Town. This was the fourth all-time playoff meeting between these class periods, with Caesars Palace holding a record of 2-1, having won the last two meetings in 2022 and 2023. In the 2025 French Class League round-robin, the teams tied, 9-9, in week 2 while Caesars Palace defeated Sam's Town, 15-9, in week 7. Caesars Palace was favored to win the matchup at -233 odds, around 70% chance of victory. In the end, Period 3 defeated Period 5 by a score of 3-2, advancing to the semi-final round for the sixth time in history.
After the first day of competition, Caesars held a 3-2 series lead. Despite being outscored by Sam's Town, 97-86, Caesars managed to hold leads in average (3.19 vs. 2.85), positive (95.56% vs. 90.65%), and highest student (9 vs. 7). In addition to overall points, Sam's Town led French (44.86% vs. 30.00%) percentage.
After a closely contested Day 1, Caesars managed to expand their series lead to 4-1. With an explosive 104-point performance on Day 2, Sam’s Town extended their lead in the total points category, 201 to 168 but failed to gain traction in any other category and similarly lost the lead in French percentage. Despite the widened series lead, the overall trends were still positive for Sam's Town to stay competitive. The gap between favored status closed with Caesars holding -130 odds to win the series after day 2.
Through the third day, the series had shifted in favor of Sam's Town. The fifth-period class managed to turn two categories in their favor, French usage and highest earning student, and maintained their overall points lead to grab a 3-2 series lead. French usage continued to be a close category, with Sam's Town leading 18.4% to 16.7% and their overall points lead decreased from day 2 to day 3. Trend analytics helped to swing the odds to favor Sam's Town for the first time in the series, estimating 65% chance of victory for period 5.
Aside from increasing point totals, not much changed through the fouth day of competition as Sam's Town held a 3-2 series lead heading into the final day of competition. The series remained close with Caesars' best chance of regaining a series advantage being in the highest student category, where they trailed 34-32. French usage also is a category that remained in play entering the final day but the third-period class needed a dramatic increase in French points to overcome the advantage built by Sam's Town.
On the final day, Caesars Palace outscored Sam's Town 130-126 and, critically, had a massive increase in French points. The surge allowed the third-period class to maintain their average point and positive percentage advantages while flipping the French usage category to their favor, enough to secure the series victory. Despite their out-pointing of period 5, Caesars was not able to pass them in total points or highest student.
The student leader for Sam's Town tied the record for most points earned by an individual student in a playoff round by earning 46 points over the course of the 5-day competition. That equals the mark set by an 8th-period student from Millbrook High School in 2022.
Caesars advanced to their sixth semi-finals in six opportunities to face Period 6 Bellagio. Meanwhile, Sam's Town advanced to the first-ever consolation round competing for 5th place against the losing class of the opposite Wildcard match.

Fitzgeralds defeated Sahara by a score of 3–2 in another close Wildcard matchup. Sahara won total points and positive percentage, but Fitzgeralds prevailed in average points per student, French usage, and highest-earning student. Two Fitzgeralds students each earned 47 points, briefly setting a new individual playoff scoring record. Fitzgeralds advanced to the semifinals for the second time in history.
This match-up featured the 4th-ranked Period 4, Fitzgeralds, versus the 5th-ranked class, Period 8, Sahara. This is the second all-time playoff meeting between these class periods. Period 4 won the only previous meeting in the 2022 first round at Millbrook High School. In the 2025 French Class League round-robin, Fitzgeralds won 10-8 in week 5. In week 10, both classes set a round-robin record by earning 16 points each and ending the final week tied. Fitzgeralds was favored to win the series with -200 odds, a 67% chance of victory.
Following the first day of competition, Sahara had a 4-1 series lead over Fitzgeralds. Having earned an impressive 112 points, the 8th-period class also managed to earn a 30% French score. Their 93% positive score edged out Fitzgeralds 92% and their leading student gained 11 points, compared to just 7 for their opponent. Fitzgeralds, the smallest rostered class of the first round, managed to control the scoreboard in average points per student at 4.06 points per student. After one day of competition, the odds to win the series dramatically flipped in favor of Sahara, who jumped to -300 odds with an estimated 75% chance of victory.
After two days, the series gap had narrowed to a 3-2 lead for Sahara. Fitzgeralds flipped the positive point percentage in their favor and maintained an advantage in points per student. French percentage remained the closest category, with Sahara narrowly leading 21.3% to 20.0%.
Day three saw a tight race become even tighter all the while shifting the series lead in favor of Period 4. Fitzgeralds took leads in French Usage and held the double tie-breaker in highest student to grab their first series lead, a 4-1 advantage. Despite a close series, separated only by 0.04 in positive points and a double-tie-break necessary to solve for highest earner, the odds for a Fitzgerald victory completely reversed, with Fitzgerald sitting at -350, the highest number of any class to this point in the playoffs.
Four days into the competition saw Sahara retake the lead in positive points and highest earner. The series continued to be too-close-to-call heading into the final day of competition.
An intense final day saw both classes earn over 100 points. Fitzgeralds earned a net 143 points with 36 of them coming from French usage, while Sahara earned 117; 23 of which were earned for using French. The series total points added up to 512 for Sahara and 411 for Fitzgeralds, giving the 8th-period class their first category win. Fitzgeralds earned 24.18 points per student, compared to 17.66 for Sahara. Positive points was close but Sahara maintained an advantage, 95.7% to 94.2%, while Fitzgeralds held their lead in French usage at 26.6% versus 19.1%. The series was decided by the highest-earning student category, where Fitzgeralds set a new record (which would be broken by Period 6 in the following round), with their two highest students both earning 47 points to secure their class a 3-2 series victory.
Fitzgeralds earned their second-ever series victory, ironically both against Period 8, and advanced to the Semi-Finals against the other French 2 class, first-ranked Period 7 The Strat.
Sahara falls into the consolation round for 5th place against Period 5 Sam's Town.

The 2025 Goeller Cup Semi-Finals started on Monday, 7 April and concluded on 22 April 2025. Having higher-seed advantage, both Bellagio and The Strat were able to choose when their semi-final round started, opting either to start before their opponent or allow their opponent to start before them. The first option allowed the higher-seeded class to set the pace for the series, while the second option allowed the higher-seeded class to finish each day-cycle knowing their adversary's scores. This was the first time that this option was offered to any classes. Both higher-seeded classes opted to start after their opponents.
Semi-final #1 featured an all-French-2 matchup between the top-seeded Period 7 The Strat versus fouth-ranked Period 4 Fitzgeralds. 2025 is the second consecutive year that 7th Period has won the LCF season and earned a first-round bye. The Strat entered as the defending Goeller Cup Champion class period and advanced to the Semi-Finals round for the 5th time in their history. Fitzgeralds defeated Period 8 Sam's Town in the first round to earn their second playoff victory and advance to the final four round for the second time in history. This is the first playoff matchup between a Period 4 and Period 7 class.
After one day of competition, the Strat held a 3-2 lead having earned 112 points (+114, -2) compared to Fitzgeralds 69 (+77, -8). Fitzgearlds' impressive points for speaking French led them to a mark of 57.14% French usage, the highest of any class in the playoffs to this point. However, their 89.6% positive rating was the lowest of any class to this point in the playoffs. Highest student remained close, with the Strat holding a 2 point lead, 11-9.
Fitzgeralds closed the gap on their second day in total points, racking up a net gain of 120 points (+129, -9), compared to Strat's net gain of 113. Fitzgeralds took the series lead thanks to their individual student leaders who outscored those in the Strat, taking a 25-17 lead to shift the series in their favor. Fitzgeralds also had a commanding lead in points per student at 11.11 vs 7.76 and a closer battle in French percentage at 34.5% to 32.0%. The Strat continued to lead by 36 points in the total points category and commanded the positive points percentage category with a 97-92% advantage through two days of competition.
Through three days, Fitzgeralds held their 3-2 series lead with advantages in points average, French usage, and highest student. The last category had started to become a runaway for the fouth-period class as they opened a 12-point lead, which Strat struggled to overcome. Through three competition days, Fitzgeralds maintained the highest French usage percentage at 33.5%. Fitzgeralds gained 105 points (+107, -2), while Strat grew their lead with a net-gain of 129 (+133, -4).
The final day was an intense battle that took each class to their final moments. The Strat earned 115 points (+132, -17) while Fitzgeralds earned 125 (+128, -3), bringing the former to a total of 617 points, just 7-points shy of the record-setting 624 points put up by Period 3 this round. The Strat was well in position to win the series through the final moments of class but had their worst day of point loss all series, just barely flipping the positive point category to favor Period 4. The difference of just 0.003 is the closest finish in this category, outside of a tie. Every negative point matters greatly in the Goeller Cup Playoffs.
Fitzgeralds defeated the Strat by a final score of 3-2 (winning average point per student, positive percentage, and highest student) to advance to the 2025 Goeller Cup Final. It was the first time that a Period 4 class advanced to the Finals and the first time that a #1-seed was knocked out in the semi-final round.

Bellagio defeated Caesars Palace by a score of 3–2 in the other semifinal. Caesars Palace set a playoff record with 624 points but fell just short of reaching another Goeller Cup Final. Bellagio won average points per student, positive percentage, and highest-earning student. Jaekob, a defending Goeller Cup champion from 2024's Strat class, shattered the individual playoff scoring record with 67 points.
The Semi-Final matchup between third-ranked Period 3 Caesars Palace versus second-ranked Period 6 Bellagio started with Caesars' first day of competition on Monday, 7 April, and concluded on Monday, 21 April. Bellagio advanced to the semi-finals for the second time in history thanks to their automatic advancement, the second time this period has achieved such a feat. Period 3 advanced to their sixth semi-final appearance in six opportunities after a last-minute comeback against Period 5 in the Wildcard round.
The only remaining former and defending Goeller Cup Champion students were members of Bellagio, two of whom were competing to become three-time Goeller Cup Champions and a handful of others who were hoping to become two-time champions. This was the second all-time meeting between these class periods, the only previous meeting taking place in the 2022 Goeller Cup Final, which Period 3 won 3-2. Bellagio had home advantage and decided to let Caesars Palace start the round before them.
On Caesars' first day, they earned 111 points (+113, -2), good for a running tally of 4.11 per student and a 98.23% positive score. Their 41 points for speaking French landed them at an impressive 36.28% French usage, and their highest scorer earned 10 points.
On their respective second competition days, both classes earned over 100 points, with Caesars earning a net gain of 109 points and Bellagio accumulating 119 points. The total score of points after two days had Caesars in front by just seven points, 220-213. Bellagio's lead in average point percentage began to expand dramatically as their total points numbers got closer together, leading by 6.05 points on average. Positively, both classes had lost 6 points and their positive percentages were nearly identical, both rounded to 97.3% (Advantage Caesars). As Bellagio's lead in average point per student grew, it seems, too, that a lead grew in French percentage for Caesars Palace. Although Bellagio closed the gap in this category on day 2, Caesars maintains dominant control over the category for now. Finally, Bellagio managed to increase their student leader score to an advantage of five points over Caesars, 24-19.
Through three days of competition, the series lead has stabilized in favor of Caesars, having continued to lead the same 3 categories through three days. In fact, Caesars had a 100% day, by earning 139 points (+139, -0) on day #3. The battle was still close with total points and positive points percentage still largely in play for both classes, despite being favored for Caesars. On the third day, Bellagio's 111-point gain (+115, -4), saw a dip in French percentage as they earned a majority of points for other categories.
Day four's competition saw the series shift in favor of Bellagio for the first time, who took a 3-2 lead by flipping the French usage category in their favor by a razor-thin margin of just 0.05 percent. Caesars maintained a 70-point lead in total points (480-410), earning 120 points (+127, -7) on day #4 while Bellagio earned 93 (+96, -3). Bellagio was on pace to set new records in point average and highest earner. Bellagio's leading student broke the record for highest individual student on their fouth day of class on 16 April 2025. Two-time champion Jaekob had earned 49 points through four days. The record was previously set in the first round of these playoffs when two students in Period 4 Fitzgeralds earned 47 points.
On the final day, both teams surged in points, with both earning well over 100 points. Caesars' record-setting 624 points through the five-day playoff competition was their single best day of the 2025 playoffs. Unfortunately, they fell just shy of advancing to what would have been a fourth Goeller Cup Final appearance for period 3. Caesars did manage to flip French usage to their favor, winning the category 29-26%, but Bellagio was able to flip the positive point percentage to their favor, with the slimmest of margins at 0.03% difference. Bellagio's student average of 35.13 points per student set a record, breaking the previous 29.35 held by Period 7 (Millbrook HS, 2022 first round). Their leading student and defending Goeller Cup Champion student Jaekob demolished the previous high-mark set by two students in Period 4 during the opening round of the 2025 Playoffs, earning 67 individual points.
Period 6 advanced to the Goeller Cup Final for the second time while Period 3 advanced to the Bronze series.

For the first time, the Goeller Cup Playoffs featured consolation rounds to determine a 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place class. The third-place game will be equal in length to the 2025 Goeller Cup Finals and will feature the two losing semi-final classes competing in the same format as the rest of the competition. The fifth-place match will involve the two Wildcard losing classes and will last for the remainder of the Goeller Cup Playoffs, through the semi-final and final rounds.
The inaugural Bronze Series featured the #1-ranked Strat (Period 7) versus the third-ranked Caesars Palace (Period 3). Both classes lost their semi-final matchups by a score of 2-3. This was the second post-season meeting between these two classes, the other matchup being in the 2023 first round, where Caesars Palace won 3-2. In the 2025 French Class League, The Strat was 2-0-0 against Caesars Palace with an opening-week 9-8 victory and a 7-6 victory in week 6.
The series started on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The Strat led the series 3-2 after the first day of competition. They earned a whopping 131 points (+134, -3), earned 97.76% positivity, and had a French score of 17.16%. Caesars managed 129 points (+133, -4), a 96.99% positivity rating, and just 11.28% French. They did lead average points 4.78 to 4.52 and highest-earner 11-6 at the end of one day.
On the second day, Caesars flipped the series lead in their favor thanks to an increase in their French usage score. The Strat returned serve on day 3 by flipping average points per student to their favor. The series lead shifted again on the fouth day of competition with Caesars returning to a 3-2 lead as they flipped average point back in their favor, while maintaining French usage and highest earner.
The series concluded on Friday, May 9, 2025. Period 7 The Strat closed the series leading in 3 of the 5 categories, earning the first ever Goeller Cup Bronze Medal in competition history. Their third-place victory was secured with 419 points (vs. 405), a positive percentage of 97.44% (vs. 96.89%) and French usage at 18.84% (vs. 17.46%). Period 3 Caesars Palace subsequently finished in fourth place in the 2025 Goeller Cup Playoffs, having won two categories. The fifth-place match featured the two losing Wildcard teams: sixth-ranked Period 5 Sam's Town versus fifth-ranked Period 8 Sahara. The fifth-place match lasted for two rounds during the semi-final and final rounds of the 2025 Goeller Cup Playoffs, using the same scoring parameters as any other playoff round. Each class tallied 12 days of scoring for this matchup, the longest-ever playoff matchup, despite the points from this match not counting towards official record keeping aside from total points earned being added to cumulative playoff point totals.
Sam's Town (Period 5) became the first class to ever advance to a consolation round on 3 April 2025 when they lost their Wildcard First Round series to Period 3 Caesars Palace, 3-2. The following day, Sahara (Period 8) lost a close battle against Period 4, falling 2-3 in the series and advancing to the consolation round. This was the second post-season meeting between Periods 5 and 8, the previous meeting having been the 2024 First Round series, which Period 8 won 3-2.
Sam's Town completed their first day of the round on Monday, 7 April 2025 when they earned 99 points (+99, -0). The tally earned them a now-rare 100% positivity day alongside 2.91 points per student. They had 13 French points to earn a rating of 13.13% in that category while a number of students helped lead the charge with 4 points on their first day. Sahara's first day on Tuesday, 8 April 2025, saw an equally impressive tally of 100% with 87 points (+87, -0).
Three days into the series saw Sahara pull ahead in all categories, leading by 21 points overall, 342 vs. 324. The 5-0 lead marked the first time in the 2025 Playoffs that any class held a 5-0 advantage in a playoff round.
By the end of day 7, Sam's Town had regained an advantage in two categories to bring the series back to a 3-2 contest, having flipped highest student and total points. They maintained the lead in these two categories through days 8 and 9, as well.
The series concluded on Monday, May 12 when Period 8 finished their final class of the series. At the end, Sahara won the round by a 4-1 score, just edging out Period 5 in total points, 970 to 968, a category they flipped on the final day. The 8th-period class maintained the series lead through all 12 competition days en route to their fifth-place finish in the playoffs. Sam's Town managed to win average student by just two points, 57 to 55.

Period 6 "Bellagio" vs. Period 4 "Fitzgeralds"
Day 1 of competition saw Bellagio take a 3-2 series lead, having earned 76 points (+78, -2), a 97.44% positive mark, compared to Fitzgeralds 75 points (+77, -2) at 97.40% positive. Bellagio also led average points with 5.07 versus 4.17. Fitzgeralds led French percentage, 33.77% to 25.64%, and highest student earner, 9-8.
Bellagio increased their series lead from 3-2 to 4-1 on the second day of competition, with three of the categories flipping hands. Bellagio's 77 points (+78, -1) was three points shy of Fitzgeralds' gain of 80 points (+82, -2). Having entered with a one-point deficit in this category, Fitzgeralds flipped the total points category in their favor. Bellagio maintained the lead in average points (10.2 vs. 8.61) and positive percentage (98%-97.5%). They also flipped French usage and highest student in their favor, leading 30%-27.6% and 19-17, respectively.
The third day of competition was STAR WARS day on 6 May ("Revenge of the Sixth") and featured overall lower point opportunities for all classes as Monsieur Bracken was replaced by Jedi Master Téralyn Ombrelune to train students in the Académi Jedi. Bellagio maintained the 4-1 series lead, as point distributions for both periods were relatively even. The points in all categories remained close, despite the lopsided series score. Fitzgeralds' only lead was in total points, 209-186. Bellagio remained ahead in average points (12.4-11.6), positive percentage (97.3-96.3%), French usage (24.6-21.2%), and highest student (25-22).
Bellagio maintained a series lead on day 4, with a 3-2 lead over Fitzgeralds, setting up an easy route to the championship on day 5. They led average points (18.4-17.1), positive percentage (98.2%-97.5%), and highest student (34-30). For Fitzgeralds, their lead in total points (307-276) and French usage (24.8%-22.4%) kept them in the series but required still one more category to win the Goeller Cup. Entering the final day, Period 4 would need to either outscore Period 6 by 35 or more points to flip average points, or outscore the Period 6 highest student by 5 or more points. Both were feasible categories to gain but still presented an uphill battle for the fourth-ranked class.
At the end of the fifth and final day of competition, Period 6 managed to retake the lead in French usage (32.91%-29.25%) en route to a 4-1 series win and the 2025 Goeller Cup Championship. They only lost total points, trailing that category 407-385. Period 6 became the first class to ever win the Goeller Cup by a 4-1 series score.
